Positive Recognition Program

We recognize students who model positive behaviors by following our school’s Guiding Principles of Belonging, Success, Safety, Freedom and Choices, and Fun. Students are recognized for positive behaviors in the following ways:

Positive Recognition

Link: A staff member may observe a student making a positive choice and will give a link to a student. The student’s name is written on the link and exchanged for a reward. The link is added to the many other links awarded to students which will form a chain to be displayed in our school.

Super Sub Slip: Students who are especially helpful to guest teachers may receive a Super Sub Slip. They will receive a small reward and are entered in a weekly drawing.

Positive Office Referral: A positive office referral recognizes a student who is observed demonstrating positive behavior connected to one of our Guiding Principles. A staff member writes a description of this behavior on a postcard.  The postcard is mailed home and the student is entered in a weekly drawing.

Student-of-the-Month: Each month, grade level teams use our Guiding Principle rubric to identify specific, consistent, positive behavior from students.  These selected students are awarded Student-of-the-Month certificates and participate in a monthly Student-of-the-Month celebration at school.
