Conferences: March 20

Please join us for Sumner Middle School’s Arena Conferencing on Thursday, March 20 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm

What is arena conferencing?

We will use the same arena conference format we used in November where teachers will be available to meet with you to discuss your child’s academic progress. Parents come in and meet with teachers in a first-come, first-serve fashion. To prevent everyone coming at one time, we are recommending families attend at a specified time (see below). Of course, if you have children with multiple last names OR if you are not able to attend during your recommended scheduled time, you are welcome to attend at a different time.

We ask that parents show up no later than 6:00pm because our arena conference will end promptly at 6:30pm. 

• 3:30-4:00 Last Name A-C
• 4:00-4:30 Last Name D-G
• 4:30-5:00 Last Name H-L
• 5:00-5:30 Last Name N-R
• 5:30-6:00 Last Name S-Z

Unlike in the fall when we had arena conference for 7 hours, this event will only be 3 hours long. This means:

• Parents should prioritize the teacher(s) they want to speak with since chances are with this shortened time, parents will not be able to speak to all of their child’s teachers

• Keep conversations with each teacher to approximately 3-4 minutes to allow other parents an opportunity to speak to the teacher, too

We are also providing free meals (hotdog or pizza meal) to families who attend our arena conferencing. Families must RSVP on this form by Tuesday, March 18 if they would like the free meal(s).  Only one RSVP needs to be completed for each family. Food will be served beginning at 3:30pm and we will stop serving food at 6pm, so if you would like a free meal you must arrive and collect your free meal(s) prior to 6pm. Having difficulties completing the form?
